I captured this beautiful snowflake of the Stellar Dendrite type a few winters ago and decided to paint it. It is one of the prettiest snowflakes I have ever encountered, with its intricate geometric shapes. I used cool purples and blues to enhance the ice-cold mood. The crystal features hints of magenta and cyan, adding to its beauty. I had a relaxing afternoon of painting. I managed to make another painting, which is almost impossible to photograph. A phone camera can`t capture the subtle changes in colour and contrast. I painted this Stellar Dendrite snow crystal on a 24" x 24" canvas. My snow crystal photographs inspired it. I am hoping to see some snowfall soon. My winter studio is set up, and my flash batteries are charged. In the meantime, I keep busy with my paintbrushes. It is so good to have multiple passions📸🎨🥁. Over the weekend, I enjoyed spending time in my studio, where I completed an 8" x 8" canvas featuring the Epistrophus morpho butterfly. This butterfly has a pale appearance with a beautiful turquoise/blue sheen that is hard to capture through a camera lens.
